YOU ARE INVITED TO SING "Messiah"
83rd Annual Performance (Singalong style with no live audience)
Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, 4:00 PM--St. Andrew Presbyterian Church
LIVE STREAMED on YSOS.ORG
Dear Messiah Chorus member,
Yes, we get to sing Messiah this year. But in order to keep everyone as safe as possible from COVID 19 Messiah will need to be performed differently this year.
After a long and heart-felt discussion, the YSOS Board has decided that this year’s Messiah will need to be a “Sing-along” style Messiah with only three rehearsals and no live audience. Instead of the live audience, we are making arrangements for the “Sing-along” to be Live Streamed on several different websites including YSOS.org and YouTube. It can be viewed “Live” or watched at a later time. To minimize the possibility of COVID exposure, we will limit the number and length of rehearsals.
In order to give chorus members a chance to renew their familiarity with the music, we will have two one-hour rehearsals with Linda Robinson and one rehearsal with Corey Kersting and the orchestra. Rehearsal CD’s will be available at the first rehearsal to allow singers to practice at home.
Chorus only rehearsals---Monday, November 15 and 29, 7:00 pm at St. Andrew Church
Chorus and Orchestra rehearsal—Saturday, Dec. 4, 10 am at St. Andrew
Sing-along Performance---Sunday, Dec. 5, 4:00 pm at St. Andrew (no audience)
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING COVID 19 PROTOCOLS THAT WILL BE FOLLOWED
Proof of vaccination will be required for all chorus and orchestra participants.
(Please bring your proof-of-vaccination card to the first rehearsal you attend.)
Facemasks will be worn for all rehearsals and the performance.
Adequate distancing will be maintained during rehearsals and the performance.
If you are not yet vaccinated, there is still time to get vaccinated prior to the November 15 rehearsal.
If you are unable to get vaccinated, you may sing at the Saturday rehearsal and the Sunday performance if you have proof of a negative COVID test within the previous 48 hours.
The YSOS Board knows that some of these decisions will disappointing to some folks but will be welcomed by others. The best thing is that we can sing Messiah!!! Please consider getting vaccinated and then join us for our few rehearsals and the “Sing-along Performance.” It will be so good to sing together again.
